San Fransico Cronicle (Week 8)
Does anyone remember that young team from the bay area who was 0-5 getting torched everyweek??? Well, noone here in San Fran seems to! In their back to back wins It was the Defense this time who steped up Big this week vs the Colts.
The 49ers scored a late touchdown to go ahead for good in this low scoring but exiting 10-7 victory. On offense A.Smith with a great week of practise got the nod over Chad Pennington, and he did not disapoint. With a very controled effort the former number 1 pick went 13/19 for 158 yds and no picks, finding HB turned FB Michael Bush out of the back field 7 times. Deanglo Williams was a bulldog all day finally breaking a 43 yard run setting up the winning touchdown, Williams ended up just shy of a 100yds and a TD. "Credit the Colts D on this one, they had us bottled up all day. I just kept the faith in my o-line and our coaching staff, and we finally broke one loose." Williams had to say after the game.
His Counter part M. Jones-Drew had the one and only bright spot of offense for Indy. Late in the 3rd Jones-Drew took a hand off up the middle, broke three tackles and sprinted 85 yds for the lone score of the Colts. But It was the 49ers Defense who was the real star of the game! Every time the Colts threatend the Defense steped up.
Interseptions in the red zone by both B.Pool and D.Hall, along with the constant harassment of Bertrad Berry confused Both Sanchez and Rosenfels all day, they combind for just over 100yds and 4 picks. But, it was Tommy Harris who closed out the game. After setting up a third and long with a sack, Harris tips and picks off the errant Sanchez pass.
The 49ers are 2-0 since the arrival of Deanglo Williams and Alex Smith, after hearing the news of Bryant Westbrooks injury Williams had this to say "Man thats hard to take, after gettting a guy like WB (Westbrook) and seeing him go down like that... Its just hard, you almost see your whole season flash before your eyes. But hey, my boys down in Chi town are tuff and they'll get through this." That as it may, be assured the 49ers brass are happy to have Williams here and not be in the postition of the Bears... Knock on wood.... This team has appeared to turn it around, but at 2-5 the 9ers have a long way to go. However, on the right track they are.

Bigc2008 whats the definition of dominate? To me dominate is a shutout or beating somebody by 30 pts. Not winning by a field goal buddy. Come on man its 2010 get your definitions right cornball.
